Insurance info for Homeowners

CHVFD is a fully volunteer fire department with a station located at 837 Cundys Harbor Road, operating one fire engine with a 1,500 gpm pump and 1,000 gallon water tank, one pumper/tanker with a 1,250 gpm pump and 2,000 gallon water tank, one ALS ambulance, and one squad truck carrying portable fire and rescue equipment.  For structure fire responses, one engine and one tanker also respond from the Orr’s Island Fire Station and the Harpswell Neck Fire Station automatically.

We are in an ISO level 9 district within 5 miles of the fire station.

We have year-around fire hydrants at the following locations of our district:

  • Bethel Point Road @ 43.800206, -69.905312 (salt water)
  • Doughty Cove Road (private way) @ 43.847975, -69.913484
  • Grover Lane @ 43.824533, -69.895243
  • Gun Point Road (private way) @ 43.786222, -69.939040
  • ​Oakhurst Island Road @ 43.794032, -69.895940

Can we find you in an emergency?

When you call 9-1-1, time is important. Help us find you fast. Consider:

  1. Can we see your address number from both directions as we approach on the street
  2. Are your address numbers at least 4 inches high?
  3. Are your address numbers of a simple block type font?
  4. Are your address numbers legible and on a contrasting background?

 

Numbers are available for those that need assistance, but must be requested and installed by the resident.
